A fabulous 9ct yellow, white and rose gold fringe or “Cleopatra” necklace, so-called after the style worn by Elizabeth Taylor as the titular character in the film “Cleopatra” (1963) became hugely popular.
The gold has a textured bark-effect on the front and is polished on the reverse and it can be worn either way.
The integrated box clasp is stamped with a maker’s mark “NK” and hallmarks for 9ct gold, London 1979. The tongue of the clasp is also stamped with a crown and 375 for 9ct gold.
It’s in very good vintage condition with only light wear to the gold, the rhodium coat of the white gold wearing slightly. The clasp is secure and closes with a firm click.
