A stunning almost-antique sterling silver jewellery box with original turquoise/teal velvet lining and 6 ring slots.
 
Hallmarked - Birmingham 1929. Unfortunately the makers mark is illegible. Engraved on the top “1927-1952” - perhaps given and engraved for a silver wedding anniversary gift?
 
It’s in good condition for its age. The box is slightly misshapen. You have to wiggle the lid to close it properly. The front and back of the base have horizontal dents. There is a shallow horizontal dent to the left top of the lid, smaller dents to the lid. A dent and small split to the edge of the lid on the curve right of the front that feels sharp. Various scratches and blemishes to the silver. The velvet is in good condition. There’s a stock number (from a previous jeweller) lightly scratched next to the hallmark on the base.
