A wonderful antique silver long guard chain with dog clip. It has a dense curb link and therefore a lovely weight. No clasp but charms/pendants can be suspended from the dog clip.
 
The clasp is stamped “SS” for sterling silver and a maker’s mark “C.D.B” for Charles Daniel Broughton of Birmingham who registered his mark in 1881.
 
In very good antique condition with light wear and patina, commensurate with age. The dog clip closes securely, its spring still firm.
